In 2015, St. Luke’s broke ground on a vegetable garden located on the church property. The garden was funded by donations from parishioners and a Ministry Grant from the Diocese of Milwaukee.
The garden is called the “Giving Garden” because the garden’s organic produce is donated to organizations that provide food to the hungry in our community. Through most of the growing season we were able to provide weekly deliveries to local food pantries and soup kitchens.
Love Grows Here!
5.25.2020 Garden Update!
Our Giving Garden is well underway with organic produce already planted! Each summer we harvest over 1,000 pounds of produce to help feed the hungry! This means we are going to need volunteers to sign-up to water the garden on a daily basis. There is a hose and wand on the east side of the daycare center that extends all the way into the Giving Garden. Because of the pandemic, we are trying an online sign up this year. If you are able to sign-up for daily slots, that would be greatly appreciated! You only need to water the fenced in Giving Garden. You do not need to water the Butterfly Garden. If you have any questions about watering the Giving Garden, you can click here to email me. Otherwise, click here to access our online sign-up page.
Thank you for all you do to help love grow in our garden!
